How often should I get a physical?

Our practice utilizes both nurse practitioners and physicians. Both providers are able to diagnose, prescribe therapy and order tests. We believe the collaboration of both will give you the best care. The focus of medicine is to cure. The focus of nursing is disease prevention and health promotion. So we encourage you to see both of our providers which will give you a more comprehensive outlook and help you to be more pro-active regarding your health.

We offer services Monday through Saturday with several late afternoon

Annandale Women & Family Center is staffed by board certified physicians and nurse practitioners in their field of specialty. Because our practice is owned by a nurse practitioner, our staff is chosen in part because of their ability to assist our patients to be pro-active in their wellness rather than re-active in their illness. Our physicians are selected not only for their expertise; but, also and as importantly; for their enthusiastic approach to holistic health care and their innate ability to actively listen to each patient. Our physicians and nurse practitioners see patients in a collaborative effort building on each others knowledge and care.

If you have never seen a nurse practitioner, you may be interested to know that all comparative studies of NPs and MDs show the care of primary care patients by NPs to be as effective as that by physicians. A nurse practitioner is a nurse with an advanced degree usually a Masters or PhD in nursing. NPs emphasize wellness and self-care by providing needed information to patients so that they can make health lifestyle choices and health care decisions.

Our practice also employs registered nurses and certified technicians with many years of experience and knowledge. Several of our nurses and technicians have become schooled in cosmetic medicine.
